Flushing Night Out to Transform Meetinghouse

Community to Transform National Landmark for Flushing Night Out

New Yorkers Invited to Experience Curated Food, Arts & Crafts, and Live Entertainment at the Premier Outdoor Night Market

The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce announced the third annual Flushing Night Out on August 18 and 19, 6 pm to 11pm at the Flushing Meeting House on 137-16 Northern Boulevard, Queens, NY 11354.  There will be a special preview from 6 to 7 pm, with $5 admission at the popular night market. Proceeds from the preview will go towards the preservation fund of the Flushing Meeting House. From 7pm onwards, the night market will be free and open to the public.
Every year, Flushing Night Out is held at a different location to highlight the unique historical landmarks in the area and bring the community together to experience the world heritage unique to Flushing, Queens. This year, the night market will be held at the nationally-landmarked Flushing Meeting House which was first constructed in 1694. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the historic site, which is the oldest house of worship in New York, and its beautiful grounds while enjoying artisan food, crafts, and music from local artists The Legends of Motown Revue and Session Band.
The premier outdoor market in Flushing will feature food from beloved local restaurants and businesses including Dumpling Galaxy, Sam’s Fried Ice-cream, Joey Bats Sweets, New Asian Foods, In Patella, Cat Mint Wheel, Lezzetli’s Ice cream, Gutsier Living, and more. Flushing Night Out has been recognized by many civic leaders and is currently nominated for the ‘Best of the Boro’ Award for Best Annual Festival.
“Flushing Night Out offers a unique programming mix of arts and live entertainment from our community, in addition to its main draw of world cuisines converging at one location. We want to showcase the fantastic culture unique to Flushing and this year, we are proud to partner with the Flushing Meeting House to provide an unforgettable summer weekend of history mingled with food, and music,” said John Choe, Executive Director of the Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce.
In previous editions, Flushing Night Out was held at Flushing Town Hall and the grounds of Flushing High School, the oldest free public high school in New York City.
