Queens Historian Jack Eichenbaum to Lead “Medieval to Modern” Tour

Jack Eichenbaum, the Queens Borough Historian and regular attender of our interfaith breakfast, will be leading a walking tour of different houses of worship in our community on Sun, May 19, 12:00 PM (starting at Flushing Meeting) as part of the 2019 Sacred Sites Open House Weekend.

Flushing Sacred Sites Tour

The tour is part of New York Landmarks Conservancy’s ninth annual Sacred Sites Open House, which will give visitors the chance to explore the architecture and artifacts in some of the New York’s oldest religious buildings from May 18 to 19, 2019.

Historian Jack Eichenbaum will give a “Medieval to Modern”-themed tour throughout Flushing convening at noon on May 19. The tour will pass by about a dozen diverse houses of worship in central Flushing ranging from the 17th-century Flushing Quaker Meeting House to several 21st-century temples serving mostly immigrant communities.
